Torrential downpours didn’t dampen the spirits of those taking part in the Newcastle Pride Festival parade on July 20, 2019 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England.
To commemorate 50 years since the Stonewall riots, which was a pivotal turning point on the road to LGBT+ equality, Northern Pride Festival held a march through the centre of Newcastle.
The parade marks the start of a three day festival in the heart of Newcastle taking over the Town Moor and Exhibition Park areas of the city for main stage events featuring a range of artists.
Over 20,000 people are expected to attend the event which comes as Newcastle has been chosen to be the host city for UK pride 2020.
