The Leadership Hustings

Over the last week I’ve been on three assignments covering the Conservative party leadership candidate’s Boris Johnson and Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt as they travelled around the country taking part in the hustings ahead of the party vote for a new leader.

Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt are the final two MPs left in the contest to replace Theresa May as leader of the Conservative Party.

The winner will be announced on July 23rd and will also then take up the post of Prime Minister of the UK and Northern Ireland.

I covered them as they came to take part in the hustings for the North West region in Carlisle, the Yorkshire and Humber region in York and finally the North East region which was held in Darlington.

Alongside this I also covered a visit by Jeremy Hunt as he made a quick tour of the National Railway Museum in York and Boris Johnson as he made a short visit to Guisborough.
