Jamie Wardley (wearing the hat), Claire Jamieson and Richard Green from the Sand in your eye creative art company make sand drawings on the beach at Cayton Bay on August 22, 2017 near Scarborough, England.
Based in West Yorkshire the team of artists create sand drawings on a huge scale along with making sand and ice sculptures and hosting workshops and other artistic activities.
I went along and spent the day with them as they created their work on the beach. From the first line in the sand drawn with a rake and using small posts planted in the sand as reference points the intricate design slowly took shape.
Working against the return of the tide the final touches and shading were finally done to parts of the drawing as the water slowly crept back to claim the drawing.
