The Labour Party Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls joined the party candidate for Redcar, Anna Turley yesterday on the seafront for a bit of a photo-call and to meet some of the Labour Party supporters. As is also traditional for those visiting Redcar he headed to Pacitto’s to grab a ‘Lemon-Top’ ice cream!
After the stop in Redcar he then headed to Conyers School in Yarm to meet up with the Stockton South candidate Louise Baldock. Here they met with 6th form students who were involved in a political debate based roughly on the ‘Question Time’ theme and were invited to join in.
The aim of the visit was to show support for the Labour campaign in key battleground seats ahead of what is predicted to be the closest fought General Election which takes place on May 7.
