A seal pup resting on rocks near the beach at Redcar in Cleveland draws the attention of onlookers and as the Coastguard checked and subsequently confirmed that the seal was uninjured it was left to wait for the tide to come in.
However, as the second picture (0027) illustrates, there is still a problem on our beaches with pollution and waste that can cause the seals and other wildlife harm. In this particular case the bag of rubbish was blown by the strong winds blowing across the beach and hit the seal pup before being blown further along the rocks.
