This year the Victorian seaside town of Saltburn by the Sea, situated on the Cleveland coast, celebrates the 150th year since the first steam train arrived from Darlington on August 17, 1861 bringing with it some of the early families who set up home here.
Many events are planned throughout the year to mark the anniversary – with the main day of celebrations being on August 17th. The current town crier, Sharon Wilson, is ready and in good voice to announce some of the planned attractions.
