The Sandhurst Cup

The Sandhurst Cup is an International Military Skills competition that takes place each year at the West Point Military Academy in the US. Military teams from officer training academies and military schools from many countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Peru, Taiwan, Afghanistan and Chile take part in the demanding endurance event.

Various challenges are faced by the competitors during the event as they move as quickly as they can between each stand to face the different tasks. These tasks include boatman-ship, ravine crossings, obstacle courses, navigation, weapon firing, first aid, strength and endurance exercises.

This year the American team won the event with the two teams entered from the Sandhurst Military Academy in the UK coming third and sixth.

Below are a selection of pictures from the practice days leading up to the event and the actual competition itself.
