Saltburn Allotments

I’ve been slowly shooting pictures in the local allotments close to where I live for a while now as part of a long term project I started. With no particular end-date in mind for when to complete the project I’m gradually adding pictures to it as and when I can.

Sometimes the pictures are of people working on or around their allotment, other times they are the sort of pictures you see below without anyone in them. Sometimes I shoot in colour or sometimes I shoot for mono.

One of the good things about this sort of long term project is that I can gradually cover the allotments during all seasons and in all weathers and show the work that goes into maintaining these small pieces of land scattered through the town.

I’ve plans to do a few interviews with some of the owners which hopefully should make for a good photofilm when I feel the project has reached a natural conclusion and I’m also looking to organise a local exhibition here in the town. Maybe there might be a photo-book in it also?
