From the Archive – The Last Days of Steel

A worker at Corus Steel on Teesside labours in the intense heat of the steel foundry in the final days of the plant before the announcement of the closure of the steel works. The announcement of the closure of the 150 year old plant prompted widespread public concerns amongst residents of Teesside and from the workers and lead to marches through the streets of Redcar in protest against the closure.
